«My times are in thy hand...; ". Psalm 31:15

The Bible tells us the story of Abram's separation from his nephew Lot. By the time he thought he would separate from his nephew, he told him to choose first the territory he wanted. "If you go to the left, I'll go to the right; if you go to the right, I will go to the left”. Seizing the opportunity, Lot looked up with natural eyes and said to himself, wow, I want to go to the East where there is greenery, like that, he thought that he would have food and water for his growing flock! And Lot chose all the plain of Jordan with plenty of verdure, and pitched his tents to Sodom. Therefore, Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan.

What is remarkable in this story is the attitude of Patriarch Abram. He could legitimately have made his choice first by making the most of the stakes. But, he showed his willingness to take any direction, regardless of the choice of his nephew.

In doing so, Abram seems to show that he understood that his destiny is much less dependent on the territory he inhabits, but rather and essentially on the Lord - with whom he would go. In addition, obviously that will make all the difference. This attitude and disposition of heart deeply touched the heart of God: "The LORD said to Abram after Lot had separated from him ... look up ... look ... because the whole country that you see, I will give it to you and your posterity.”

What a promise! What an insurance to place one's destinies in the hands of the Lord rather than leaning on what strikes one's eyes! With Lot's experience, it is to be feared that the destinies of man are not always or only dependent on his good choices, whether legitimate or scientifically proven. He had to rush, a few times later, out of the beautiful city of Sodom that God destroyed because of the wickedness of the people who lived there.

If you entrust your destinies to the Lord, you have made the right choice. He can take your modest conditions to make it a world of abundance. He can transform the injustice you have suffered into a subject of great blessing. He can take you from economy class to that business. He can pull you from the tail and put you in the head without you having to fight for it, because He himself will fight for you
